Day 2

Today I chose to take a picture of the word "family". Obviously this is, in part, because my family is very special to me. But it is also because looking at this little wooden sign brings a smile to my face today.

Why? Because it doesn't normally sit there. Normally it sits on a ledge in my entry way... It was sitting here today because last night it took a tumble from it's normal home, down my steps, thanks to an accidental nudge from one of my awesome neighbors who had come over to play poker. It broke into several pieces- normally the letters are all level on the wooden base~ right now the "F", "I", "L", and "Y" are all sitting just in front of the sign until I take the time to stick them back onto the appropriate little nails that stick out of the wooden base. Then, once I've put it back together, I'll put it back where it belongs in my entry way.

Normally it might be suggested that I would have gotten a little upset by the sign getting broken, but I didn't... in fact, it was hilarious! I acted like it was a really big deal at first, though, because immediately my neighbor was sooooooooooo embarrased that he had broken it. I'm so mean~ I played along for a little bit that it was a really big deal just to get my neighbor going, but in fact, it was not a big deal at all. This particular sign had taken that same dive more than once, and it always goes back together. A lot like what happens in real families, right?

And that's why I picked this to be my picture today.
